🍃 Quick Atmospheric Watercolor Landscapes That Almost Paint Themselves (Sharing My Experiment)

Last year, I started painting abstract watercolor landscape pieces using freshly squeezed tube paints and I love the results. (I’ve linked a few of those below). I typically lay down the tube paint onto the paper first by way of a cut up plastic card and then I activate the paints using water and a brush or with a spritzer bottle.
For this quick 10 minute speed painting session: I did something slightly different. I experimented with laying down some water with a craft foam brush first and then I applied the freshly squeezed tube paints and 🤯. These atmospheric landscape pieces practically painted themselves. I only went in to put in a few marks here and there using an 1/2” angular wash brush (that I recently rediscovered when I was organizing my paintbrush stash-same with the craft foam brush). I didn’t even add anything to the top left painting-it just felt complete as is.
